I was given a link to this site Open Culture dot com a wonderful resource of free stuff:

What is Open Culture’s Mission?

Open Culture brings together high-quality cultural & educational media for the worldwide lifelong learning community. Web 2.0 has given us great amounts of intelligent audio and video. It’s all free. It’s all enriching. But it’s also scattered across the web, and not easy to find. Our whole mission is to centralize this content, curate it, and give you access to this high quality content whenever and wherever you want it. Free audio books, free online courses, free movies, free language lessons, free ebooks and other enriching content — it’s all here. Open Culture was founded in 2006.

There are hundreds and hundreds of items all free. I love the Internet and apart from domain registration and hosting I never spend a penny. I have just signed up for a MOOC on eLearning and Digital Cultures. Great fun and great response from participants.

By accident while looking for one of Terry Prachett’s movies I downloaded his complete works. Super. They are all epub files so I found a reader : Calibre  (link here). One book caught my eye being a cat lover ( see my partner Storm’s blog NotAnotherKitten dot com so i was immediately drawn. Below is a screenshot :

epubgraphicYou can download it here (right click and save). Don’t forget there are many books in the library. They all pdfs you can read online or download. Hey why not start a library of your own! I have my main Library on scribd dor com (link here) with some 80K reads which is very satisfying. Not all mine of course but some have good readership. I cannot upload copyright material so I’ve found out of print classics. I have authored a briefing on cyberculture which has been read by a few. More of that later. Always looking for helpers:
